New Delhi: A Class 10 student in the national capital succumbed to her injuries Monday, hours after she was caught in a fire at her home the previous night.
Police said they were ascertaining whether the girl had committed suicide or her clothes caught fire while cooking at her home in Mansarovar Park area of north Delhi.
Sunita was alone at her home and was cooking food in the kitchen when the fire broke out around 9.30 p.m.
“She ran outside her home engulfed in the fire. Her neighbours rushed her to Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital where she succumbed during the treatment in the wee hours Monday,” said a police official.
