The model-turned-actor, Munshi, faces perjury charges for turning hostile in the sensational murder in April 1999.

A division bench headed by Justice Pradeep Nandrajog dismissed Munshi’s petition, saying the court in its earlier order had not restrained him from going abroad.

The court said it had never asked any of the 32 hostile witnesses to surrender his or her passport.

Munshi in his application said he has been invited for participation in the North American Bengali Conference in the US July 2-4.

Seeking the court’s permission, Munshi said he may have to leave the country this month as he would remain busy in shooting for the conference in May.

The Delhi High Court had issued a show-cause notice to Munshi and 31 others for turning hostile in the case, while sentencing the prime accused Sidharth Vashist alias Manu Sharma, son of former union minister and Congress leader Venod Sharma, to life imprisonment in December 2006.
