New Delhi : Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh clarified Friday that his meeting with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Rajnath Singh was of a “social” nature and he did not touch politics.
“He (Rajnath Singh) is a close friend. I know him rather well. It was a wedding ceremony and was a social meeting with him. I have not opened any channel of communication with the NDA,” Amar Singh told reporters here, referring to the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Amar Singh, however, added that his party would not align with the BJP “as long as the Ram temple remained their core issue”.
