New Delhi : Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) boss and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati’s trusted lieutenant Satish Mishra Friday called on Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) general secretary Prakash Karat and assured that his party was with the Third Front, CPI-M sources said.
Mishra also assured the CPI-M leader that the BSP would participate in a meeting of Third Front parties here Monday to discuss a post-poll strategy, the sources said.
However, it was not clear whether Karat or Mayawati would attend the meeting.
The Monday meeting, coming two days after the Lok Sabha election results, would be a test of the Third Front’s strength given that several partners of the grouping are being desperately wooed by the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
