New Delhi : The Congress party Saturday won the assembly by-election from the Rohtas Nagar constituency by over 20,000 votes.
Congress candidate Vipin Sharma defeated Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Divya Jaiswal by 23,547 votes.
The Rohtas Nagar seat in northeast Delhi had fallen vacant following the death of sitting MLA and former Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee chairman Ram Babu Sharma in January this year.
Congress gave the ticket to Sharma’s son.
