Delhi is the partner state in the fortnight-long event which was inaugurated by President Pratibha Patil Saturday morning. Exhibitors from 28 countries will take part in the 14-day event.

The Delhi pavilion’s theme is Commonwealth Games 2010 to be held in the capital.

The services and hospitality sector, for which the capital has become well-known, has also been prominently showcased in the pavilion. Visitors can also see performances by Games Mascot Sheru and his associate.

“People from across the country would come and visit the pavilion. This is a great opportunity for us to make them aware about the sporting event,” Dikshit said.

Officials expect nearly three million footfalls in the pavilion, which aims to make people aware about the preparations for the mega sporting event.
