The Dubai Air show, to run from Nov 15 to 19 at Airport Expo, is the foremost aerospace event in the Middle East and the fastest growing air show in the world. The biennial event claims to provide more exhibition space, showcase innovative and technically-advanced aircraft, and equipment and systems from the world’s leading players in the industry, WAM news agency reported Saturday.

The show is being organised by F’&’E Aerospace in conjunction with Dubai Airport, the Government of Dubai and in collaboration with the UAE Armed Forces.

Around 37 high-profile military delegations from 40 countries including 18 defence ministers, 11 chiefs of staff and 19 commanders of air forces are expected to attend the five-day event in which 890 exhibitors from 47 countries will be showcasing the latest technology, products and services from the industry.

About 130 aircrafts will be on display including 14 for air demonstrations.

The show will be seeing 13 country pavilions from Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Jordan, the Netherlands, Russia, Sweden, Ukraine, UK and the US.

The floor-area for the show has been increased by over 7,000 sq m, with the addition of a new hall, to accommodate the show which is gradually growing in scope.

The F-22 Raptor air dominance fighter jet will be the star attraction at the Show. The fighter jet combines the expertise of Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Pratt & Whitney and the US Air Force.

The show has also confirmed the display of the advanced jet trainer Falcon L-15 and a full-scale replica of the Eurofighter.

The exhibition halls will also have the two impressive mock-ups – the Airbus A350 XWB cabin, in which the visitors can watch the “Shaping efficiency” audio-visual presentation, and Eurocopter’s 16-seater civilian helicopter, the EC175.

The Italian Airforce’s Frecce Tricolori and France’s Patrouille de France aerobatic teams will show their capabilities of the Aermacchi and the Alpha Jet trainers, respectively, during the daily flying display.

The aviation company Airbus has predicted that international air passenger traffic in the Middle-East region will grow at the rate of 6.6 percent over the next decade, turning the region into the world’s fastest-growing one in the field of commercial aviation. It added that the number of the aircrafts serving the region would almost triple by 2028.

Boeing, the rival company of Airbus, has asserted that the air travel in the region is stronger than in most other global regions, adding that the regional aviation market will have a value of about $300 billion over the next two decades. This will require more than 1,700 commercial jets.
