New Delhi: The Delhi High Court Thursday issued notice to Delhi University and Swami Shraddhanand College for not giving migration certificate to a student.
Justice Geeta Mittal issued notice to the DU and the Swami Shraddhanand College for Oct 20 to explain why the college was not giving migration certificate to Neelam Chopra for Kirorimal College.
According to the petition, Neelam is a second year B.A (H) Geography student of Swami Shraddhanand College, and wanted to migrate to Kirorimal College as that is near to her home in north Delhi.
Counsel for Neelam, Ashok Agarwal, pleaded before the court that as she is a patient of allergic rhinitis, her doctors have advised her to travel less. She is also myopic and cannot see bus numbers easily. And that is another reason she wanted to migrate to the other college.
However, despite several requests by Neelam, the Swami Shraddhanand College did not issue her a migration certificate and was delaying her admission in Kirorimal College, her counsel pleaded.
