Four dead, 30 hurt in Pakistan blast

Islamabad : Four people were killed and 30 injured Monday in an explosion in Pakistan’s Swat region.

The bomb blast occurred near a security checkpoint in Shangla of Swat valley in North West Frontier Province, Xinhua reported.

According to an eyewitness, a suicide bomber blew himself up near a security check post, Geo TV said.

Pakistan has been hit by a string of explosions.

On Friday, a suicide bomber detonated a car stuffed with explosives in a busy market of Peshawar, killing 53 people and injuring over 100.

A suicide bomber blew himself up Oct 5 at the UN World Food Programme office in Islamabad, killing five people.

Terrorists also attacked the Pakistani army’s headquarters in Rawalpindi Saturday, leading to a two-day standoff in which 19 people were killed.
