New Delhi : Nokia Siemens Networks has bagged a contract to roll out GSM network for telecom service provider Unitech Wireless in six circles, it was announced Monday.
As part of the contract, Nokia Siemens will be responsible for network operation and maintenance in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
“We are creating a new global telecom model… Our partnership with Nokia Siemens will help us pursue our unique model in these six circles as well,” said Stein Erik Vellan, managing director of Unitech Wireless.
Also, Nokia Siemens is deploying its mobile softswitching solution, which can help Unitech Wireless save up to 70 percent of its operating expenses, Unitech said in a statement.
