Lucknow: A team of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Tuesday raided the office and the residence of the Chief Security Commissioner of North Central Railway (NCR) P.M. Singh in Uttar Pradesh’s Allahabad district, railway sources said.
Members of the CBI team Tuesday morning simultaneously searched Singh’s office and his residence in Subedarganj in Allahabad district, some 200 km from Lucknow, they added.
The searches continued for nearly two hours, during which Singh’s official staff was also quizzed.
While the CBI team did not disclose the purpose and other details of the raid, NCR chief PRO R.D. Vajpayee confirmed the raids to reporters in Allahabad.
According to sources, the CBI officials are now staying on in Allahabad.
The raids are believed to have been conducted in connection with some case during Singh’s previous positing in Jaipur as chief security commissioner in the North Western Railway (NWR).
