“There has been a lot of talk about polarisation and bipolarity. Now it has become irrelevant,” Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari told reporters here. After the Lok Sabha election results were declared in May, Leader of Opposition L.K. Advani had said they were a mandate for bipolarity.

The Congress emerged as the single largest party in all the three states.

“The election results of the three states is a pointer to the emerging picture of the Indian politics,” Manish Tewari said indicating that Congress has emerged as the leader in a new unipolar political system.
