The court gave Sarabjit’s lawyer Owais Sheikh permission to meet him in the presence of a representative of the special branch of the police.

Sheikh said he was not allowed to meet Sarabjit despite court orders and had filed a petition against Punjab Interior Secretary and Superintendent of Kot Lakhpat jail where Sarabjit is lodged.

The police in Pakistan claim Sarabjit, who has been languishing in Pakistani jails for over 19 years, was involved in acts of terrorism. He has been convicted for two bombings in Lahore and Multan that left 14 people dead and many injured in 1990.
