Uttar Pradesh minister’s kin booked for injuring two in accident

Ghaziabad : A case was registered Monday against the brother of BSP legislator and Uttar Pradesh Power Minster Ramvir Upadhyay for running over two people here Saturday, police said Monday. Both the victims sustained critical injuries in the accident.

The police Sunday night said Vinod Upadhyay, brother of Ramvir Upadhyay, was driving the Ford Endeavour car which ran over two youths – Pankaj, 16, and Kush, 17 – in Vasundhara locality of Ghaziabad Saturday.

Pankaj and Kush were dragging their punctured motorcycle when a speeding car hit them from behind. Locals rushed them to the hospital where their condition was said to be critical, police said.

No arrest has been made in the case yet.
