New Delhi : The state government Thursday told the Delhi High Court that a show cause notice has been issued against a private school for hiking the students’ fees citing increase in salary of teachers as per the Sixth Pay Commission but not passing the benefits to the teachers.
The notice was issued to Ganga International School after a petition was filed by a group of school teachers. The matter was heard in the court of Justice Siddharth Mridul.
To an earlier notice, the school had replied that since the matter of fees hike is pending in the court, the students are not paying as per the revised scales. As a result, teachers can’t be paid enhanced salaries.
“In this situation, it is worthwhile to wait for the final outcome of the case,” the school reply stated.
The court has posted the matter for Dec 17.
