The case had been filed by a former minister of Chhattisgarh’s Bharatiya Janata Party government Ajay Chandrakar after Narayanasamy accused him in a press conference in August 2008 of corruption and making Rs.1,000 crore.

On Tuesday, First Class Judicial Magistrate Shradha Shukla, who had granted bail to Narayanasamy, accepted his application seeking exemption from making a personal appearance, his lawyer Ambar Shukla told journalists Wednesday.

The next hearing of the case will be held Oct 24.

Chandrakar, the former panchayat and rural development minister, has alleged that the corruption charges by Narayanasamy had severely damaged his image as a politician and also caused mental trauma, one the reasons he lost the assembly polls in November last year.
