New Delhi: Minister of State for Railways and Muslim League Lok Sabha MP E. Ahamed will represent India at the inaugural of the grand Saudi science and technology university to be held on September 23. Ahamed was Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in the last UPA government.
Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh has nominated E. Ahamed to represent India at the inaugural function of a new grand University in Saudi Arabia named “King Abdulla University of Science & Technology”.
“The University is situated at Thuvval, about 80 km away from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The University spread in about 6000 acres, costing millions of dollars, will be a landmark in the history of Saudi Arabia. Along with the top leaders of other nations, Dr. Manmohan Singh has also been invited to attend the grand function which is part of the fast development taking place in Saudi Arabia in the field of Science and Technology. The Minister of Commerce of Saudi Arabia has personally extended the invitation to Dr. Manmohan Singh during his recent visit to India,” says a statement from the Central Government.
