Lucknow : Two people were arrested Monday in Itawah district of Uttar Pradesh with Rs.8.5 lakh in fake currency, police said.
Akhilesh Rajpoot and Kalka Prasad were nabbed by the Special Operations Group (SOG) from Bakeshwar locality of Itawah.
“We arrested them and recovered fake currency of denominations Rs.500, Rs.100 and Rs.50. Also, some half-printed notes were recovered,” SOG team inspector J.S. Parihar told IANS.
“They used to print the notes in a house in neighbouring Auraia district with the help of a computer, scanner and a high definition coloured laser printer. Their third partner is absconding,” he added.
