Defeat ABVP campaign against AMU branch in Kishanganj: Campus Front

By TCN News,

Patna: The Bihar unit of Campus Front of India has condemned “the communal blackmailing” of BJP youth wing ABVP by opposing the state government decision to set up Aligarh Muslim University’s branch in Kishanganj, a Muslim dominated district in Bihar. The state cabinet has approved acquisition of about 250 acres of land for the campus in the eastern Bihar district.

A couple of days back, ABVP had staged a violent protest in Patna against the bill. The ABVP has reportedly said the campus will become centre of terrorists from neighbouring Bangladesh. The state government has rejected the allegation and said the campus will help in improving the educational condition in the state. The Campus Front has urged the state government to be firm on its decision and not succumb to the pressure tactics of ABVP.

We demand the Chief Minister Mr. Nitish Kumar to be firm with his decision to open AMU Branch and also we want to remind Mr. Nitish Kumar that his voice should not be a pre-poll drama, which has been played by the politicians throughout the nation since independence, state president of Campus Front Adibuddin said.

“While Mr. Nithish Kumar was telling that the state government has already provided land for it and they are committed to setting up a branch of AMU in Kishanganj, his ruling allies supported the statewide dawn-to-dusk shutdown of ABVP to protest the government’s decision,” he said

It is said that BJP, small partner in Nitish Government, is indirectly supporting ABVP protest.

These Sangh Parivar groups are always against the interest of the Muslim community and they use to divide people on communal lines. So, Mr. Nithish Kumar should rethink about his ally, which is having the dangerous communal ideology, Campus Front leader said.

“He should initiate action against ABVP which is communalizing the education and be firm in opening the branch of AMU in Kishanganj and Campus Front of India calls for the student community to defeat the communal agenda of ABVP,” Adibuddin said.
