Official records showed the UT administration had earned Rs.78.27 crore more revenue than what was netted in 2008-09 from excise on liquor, entertainment tax and VAT.

“Increase in revenue collection is the direct result of effective implementation of the excise policy and setting up of an audit and investigation wing,” said Brijendra Singh, UT excise and taxation commissioner.
