Jammu : A migrant Kashmiri Pandit woman, who had not been getting the monthly monetary relief due to her for some months, intercepted the motorcade of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah here Friday.
The incident took place when the chief minister was on his way home after completing the day’s work at the civil secretariat.
“The Chief Minister brought the lady to his official residence and heard her grievance,” an aide of the chief minister told IANS on phone.
The woman’s complaint was redressed after the chief minister’s intervention, the aide added.
Kashmiri Pandit migrant families living in Jammu are entitled to a relief of Rs.5,000 per month from the government.
The identity of the woman was not immediately known.
