Ranchi: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) is ready to support a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led government in the state, JMM chief and Chief Minister Shibu Soren’s son Hemant Soren said Thursday.
“The BJP should initiate the process for a new government in Jharkhand,” he said at a press conference here.
Hemant, however, urged the BJP that the chief minister should be a tribal only.
Relations between the two parties soured after Shibu Soren, who has not given up his Lok Sabha membership, voted in favour of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) during the cut motions moved by the BJP. The BJP announced it would withdraw support to the Soren government Thursday, but significantly delayed meeting Governor M.O.H. Farook throughout the day.
