Jailed Koda says he is ‘very exhausted’

New Delhi : Former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda, who has spent eight months in jail and is now in the Tihar Jail here from where he is taken to parliament everyday, reiterates his innocence and says he is “very exhausted”.

“I am very exhausted as I have been in jail for the last eight months,” Koda, who was allowed by a Jharkhand vigilance court to attend the monsoon session of parliament, told IANS.

The Independent MP from Singhbhum is taken to parliament house under heavy security. He is handed over to parliament security guards by Delhi Police personnel at the entrance gate of parliament.

He is accompanied by parliament security staff wherever he goes in the parliament house premises. They also keep an eye on him when Koda attends the house proceedings.

Koda, who has been in jail since Nov 30, said “there is not even a single iota of evidence” against him for his alleged involvement in the Rs.2,500 crore money laundering scam.

“Media reports are only on the basis of the false statements by certain sources. There is not a single iota of evidence against me,” Koda said.

The former Jharkhand chief minister sat near Rashtriya Janata Dal’s Raghuvansh Prasad Singh during Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj’s speech during discussion in the Lok Sabha on price rise.
