Berlin : A blast occurred Wednesday near the convoy of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, news reports from the region said.
Several people were injured when a grenade was thrown at the convoy near Hamedan airport in western Iran, Lebanese radio and Arab news channels reported. The grenade hit a minivan carrying journalists covering Ahmadinejad’s visit.
Ahmadinejad was not hurt, and continued with his scheduled visit to the city, where he delivered a speech, the reports said.
Al-Arabiya satellite television said one person has been arrested in relation to the alleged attack.
Iranian media have not reported on the alleged attack. Press TV quoted an “informed source in the presidential office” as rejecting the report of the attack as false.
