New Delhi : There is no authentic data available on the presence and prevalence of beggars across the nation, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment D. Napoleon told parliament Thursday.
Replying to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Napoleon said there is no central scheme for rehabilitation of beggars and prevention of beggary.
The minister said that state governments have been advised to develop a database on beggars.
