Singapore : Iranian girls’ soccer team qualified for the semifinal round of the Singapore Youth Olympic Games, IRNA Sports Service said on Thursday.
Iranian girls’ soccer team qualified for the semifinal round after Turkey defeated Papua New Guinea (PNG).
Turkey, who overpowered Iran 4-2 in Group A in its opening game, defeated PNG 4-0 at the Jalan Besar Stadium and advanced to the semifinal round with six points.
Iran is scheduled to play in the semifinal on Saturday.
Singapore Youth Olympic Games opened on August 12 and will continue until August 26.
Over 3,600 athletes from several countries are competing in 26 sport fields in Singapore Youth Olympic Games.
