Chandigarh : The Punjab government Wednesday simplified the procedures for getting clearances needed by holders of industrial plots allotted by the Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation Limited (PSIEC).
“We have liberalised the steps for the simplification of procedures applicable for providing different types of clearances to the allottees of industrial plots,” said Manoranjan Kalia, industries and commerce minister, here.
“PSIEC has also given relief to the plot holders by giving them additional period of two years to start production. Around 3,000 Plot holders covering the focal points Mohali, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Dera Bassi, Patiala, Bathinda, and Sangrur will be benefited by this decision,” he said.
Officials in the industries department said this extension shall be allowed on payment of a fee- at one per cent of the current reserve price of the plot per year as applicable to the focal point concerned.
Besides, transferring of industrial plots in the focal points has also been simplified.
“As per the old procedure of transfer of plots, an affidavit was mandatory to be given by the original allottee. In such situation, original allottees do not co-operate and difficulties were experienced during transfers,” said Kalia.
“Now PSIEC has done away with this mandatory affidavit of original allottee. From now onwards public notice will be published in two newspapers before allowing transfer through general power of attorney,” he said.
