Cairo: Arab nations should have a common vision for social development to build safe and stable communities, UAE Social Affairs Minister Mariam Mohammed Khalfan Al Roumi said Sunday.
“We need to double our efforts during this edition (30th meeting of Arab social affairs ministers) in order to arrive at this target,” Al Roumi told the gathering here.
Al Roumi, who chaired the meeting of the social affairs ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), highlighted the need for giving more attention to the vital role the family could play in social cohesion.
“The GCC will spare no efforts to boost joint Arab action to produce best results, she affirmed.
She added that the UAE will host the next meeting of the GCC social affairs ministers in November 2011.
