AFMI to honor Asrarul Haque Qasmi with Sir Syed Award

Farmington, Michigan: The American Federation of Muslims of Indian Origin (AFMI) will award Maulana Asrarul Haque Qasmi, noted educationist and Member of Parliament, with its prestigious Sir Syed Award for his contribution in the field of education for Indian
Muslims.

The award will be given to Maulana Qasmi at AFMI’s 19th International Convention on Education & Gala Award Ceremony which will be held on 25thand 26th December, 2010 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Besides, at the conference Muslim students from each state of India who are toppers of 10th and 12thboard exam in 2010 will be given the gold, silver, and bronze medals according to their performances.

The two-day convention with the theme of education will be inaugurated by Dr. Kamla Beniwal, the Governor of Gujarat, at the Tagore Hall in Ahmadabad while Union Minister of Law and Justice Mr. Veerappa Moily will deliver the keynote address at the event.

The convention will feature a number of dignitaries from across India, USA, Canada and elsewhere. They include Justice Dr Rajinder Sachar, Dr. Juzer Bandukwala, Prof. V. Tripathy ((IIT) and of Sadbhav Mission-Delhi, Dr. Zafar Mehmood (Zakat Foundation), Mr. Aslam Fakih (educationist), Mrs. Ruchira Ghosh (British Council), Mr. A. Kareem Gheewala (Indian Muslim Association, UK) and a host of other educationists, social activists and community leaders.
