Ranchi : The Jharkhand High Court Monday granted bail to former minister Kamlesh Singh in a corruption case.
Kamlesh Singh was arrested by Jharkhand vigilance bureau Nov 30 last year and charged with amassing illegal assets worth Rs.1.70 crore.
Justice Poonam Srivastav granted him bail on his furnishing two sureties each of Rs.50,000. The court directed him to deposit his passport and be present during all hearings.
Singh was arrested along with former chief minister Madhu Koda, who is still in jail. Two more former ministers, Enos Ekka and Harinarayan Rai, are in jail since August 2009.
All of them have been accused of possessing illegal assets.
In August this year, the court handed over the investigation into the graft case to the Central Bureau of Investigation.
The enforcement directorate has also filed a money laundering case against Kamlesh Singh and others.
