London : A British expert of Middle Eastern relations is asking the US government to stop “fighting” in the region, if it wants to minimise domestic problems.
Asked about the recent State of the Union address by President Barack Obama, Peter Eyre said the American society is grappling with challenges which will eventually result in the “collapse of the so-called American Dream”.
“Many companies collapse or are taken over with mass unemployment…they lose their jobs and homes and join the long list of unemployed and evenutally many will reach levels of poverty. As they say the rich get richer and the poor get poorer,” Eyre told IRNA.
Blaming “a very elite group of international bankers and organisations” for the current financial crisis, he added that the US government supports these organisations with massive taxpayers’ loans while small businesses are deprived of the state funds.
Eyre said that such governments prefer for their citizens to “remain suppressed” and only reach levels that are acceptable to the government.
“Countries also do not want others to benefit from wealth of resources if they can take over or control them. American foreign policy is based on imperialism and economic greed.”
He added that the Obama administration should revise its attitude in the domestic and foreign policy and start “trading with the Middle East nations instead of fighting them”.
