PFI campaign for Muslim reservation reaches West Bengal

Kolkata: Popular Front of India’s `National Campaign for Muslim Reservation’ caravan started today in West Bengal from Kolkata.

In the morning National Campaign for Muslim Reservation programme in West Bengal has been started in Kolkata City at Metiaburuz- Muslim Dominated area of Kolkata City.

At 11 am campaigning started by an open session at Karabala Bazar of Metiaburuz (Kolkata). At least 1000 people took part in this programme.

Welcome speech was delivered by Advocate Anisur Rahman, President of PFI, Kolkata District. Key note address was read by Mr Zainul Abedin, Editor Rangdhanu Newspaper.

Guest Speaker was Mr Yasir Hasan , NEC Member of PFI and All India PFI Vice-Chairman Mr A. Sayyed. PFI West Bengal President Mr. Md. Sahabuddin & State Secretary of Imam Council Mufti Qamre Alam also delivered their valuable speech.

Mr A. Sayeed, said Reservation is our fundamental right. He said, in all India Muslim population is 13% and Ranganath Mishra Commission report says for 10% reservation for Muslim all over India. But West Bengal Population is 25.5, So reservation for Muslim In West Bengal should be minimum 20%.






Resevation caravan

After the meeting Caravan inaugurated by Mr A. Sayyed and set out for district campaigning which will run till February 18th.

Mr Sayyed announced that the caravan will move in muslim dominated districts like South 24 Parganas, North 24 Parganas, Nadia, Birbhum, Malda and end in Murshidabad.
