Farah Pandit, US Special Rep. to Muslim world, to meet Muslim journalists in Delhi

New Delhi: United States Special Representative to Muslim Communities, Farah Pandit will have a roundtable with Muslim journalists in New Delhi on February 16. Farah Pandit, one of top Muslims in President Barack Obama administration, is responsible for executing US Secretary Hillary Clinton’s vision for engagement with Muslims around the world on a people-to-people and organizational level.

Born in Srinagar, capital of Jammu & Kashmir, Farah Pandit was earlier Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs. In this role she was focused on Muslim communities in Europe where she was responsible for policy oversight for integration, democracy, and Islam in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs.

She is one of top Muslims of Indian origin picked by President Obama in his administration. Rashid Hussain, another Obama Administration official of Indian descent, was yesterday appointed as US special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference, the 57-nation organization representing Muslim World.
