Delhi student killed in Pune blast cremated

Pune/New Delhi: Aditya Jaiprakash Mehta, who was killed in Pune’s terror attack, was cremated Thursday in the presence of nearly 300 people, including family and friends, in New Delhi.

The body was brought back from Pune Thursday morning. The cremation took place at Sector-3 Rohini Thursday afternoon.

“He was a very talented boy. I wish god gives his family the courage and strength to carry on,” said O.P. Sharma, chairman of the Residents’ Welfare Association (RWA) Sector-8 Rohini, who attended the cremation.

Mehta, who was a fourth year student of Bharatiya Vidyapeeth in Pune, was due to complete his engineering this April. He succumbed to his injuries at Pune’s Jehangir Hospital early Wednesday. He suffered serious injuries during the blast Saturday.

Mehta lived at Rohini Sector-8 with his parents – J.P. Mehta and Meera Mehta – and elder sister Misha.

Eleven people were killed when popular eatery German Bakery was bombed on Valentine’s Day eve Saturday.
