B.M. Bansal to take over as Indian Oil chief

New Delhi : Indian Oil, India’s largest commercial organisation, will get a new head in Brij Mohan Bansal, one of its directors.

The government has not given extension to Sarthak Behuria as chairman of Indian Oil.

Behuria will complete his five-year term on Feb 28, but was eligible for extension till 2012, when he will turn 60.

A statement of Indian Oil Friday said Brij Mohan Bansal, the current director (planning and business development), will take over as additional charge as chairman.

Bansal has been member of the IOC board since 2005. He is chairman of Green Gas Limited, a joint venture of Indian Oil and GAIL India Ltd, as well as Indian Oil Petronas Private ltd, a joint venture of Indian Oil and Malaysia’s national oil company Petronas.
