Pakistan violates ceasefire again, BSF trooper killed

Jammu : In another incident of ceasefire violation, Pakistani Rangers fired at an Indian border post on the international border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Akhnoor sector killing a trooper, official sources said Wednesday.

Pakistani Rangers opened fire at Chak Phagwari post at around 11.30 p.m Tuesday, Border Security Force (BSF) sources said. BSF constable Hari Prasad was killed in the gunfire from across the border in Akhnoor sector, 45 km northwest of Jammu.

Early Tuesday, another BSF trooper, head constable Sultan Ali was killed at the Chak Sagwali post in Pargwal area in Pakistani firing from across the border.

Firing from Pakistan, in violation of the November 2003 ceasefire, was becoming a regular feature, an official said.
