Mumbai: Major General Sanjeev Chopra has assumed charge as the general officer commanding of the Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa area, a defence official said Wednesday.
Assuming office Tuesday, Chopra replaces Major General R.K. Hooda, who has been posted to the Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence (Army) as director general mechanised forces.
Chopra, from the Brigade of the Guards, has held appointments with distinction prior to taking over the command of the area.
