Chief General Manager of NHAI, S S Nahar, who visited the state on Sunday, communicated this to the Chief Engineer, PWD, Sunil Bhowmik.

Bhowmik said, Scot Wilson India Ltd, a NHAI approved consultant agency, was asked to prepare Detailed Project Report to execute the plan which would be completed by 2013.

The 133 km long highway will be reduced to 127 km as geometric improvement will be done in 119 locations and would avoid passage through Agartala town and Sipahijala wild life sanctuary, Bhowmick said, adding that cost for construction of one km road would be Rs 12-13 crore.
