Over 200 trained to enhance road safety in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi : Over 200 non-commissioned officers and personnel have been trained here on the basics of traffic and patrols to ensure greater road safety.

A group of 236 traffic non-commissioned officers and policemen were trained at Al Ain Traffic Institute to boost government efforts to reduce serious injuries and death toll caused by accidents, a senior official said.

Colonel Saeed Al Yahiyai, head of the traffic institute, said the trainees were given an eight week-long basic course on the principles the traffic and patrols elements should be aware of.
