Congress padyatras in Uttar Pradesh on Rahul’s b’day Saturday

Lucknow : The state unit of the Congress will take out padyatras or marches in every district of Uttar Pradesh Saturday and also organise blood donation camps to mark the birthday of party general secretary Rahul Gandhi.

“We will go the public with our slogan ‘Ek ho jao…Congress lao, Pradesh bachao’ (Get united…Vote Congress to power and save the state) on the birthday of Rahulji,” state Congress president Rita Bahuguna Joshi told reporters here Friday.

“We will also organise blood donation camps, social gatherings and other events in every district of the state,” she added.

Terming Rahul Gandhi as a “youth icon”, Minister of State for Coal Sriprakash Jaiswal said: “He (Gandhi) has become a symbol of youth for our country.”
