The ruling Peoples Party celebrated Benazir Bhutto’s 57th birth anniversary across the country with thousands activists and leaders donating blood.

Zardari visited the mausoleum of Benazir Bhutto at Naudero, a small town in Sindh Province, recited some verses from the Holy Qura’an and prayed for the salvation of her soul.

Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilnai, ministers and thousands of party’s activists, too, visited Benazir’s grave, paid homage, and prayed for her, who was killed in firing and suicide attack in Rawalpindi on December 27, 2007.

President Zardari donated blood at a function at the camp office of President House in Naudero. His People’s Party set up blood donation camps across the country in connection with the 57th birth anniversary of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

Two-and-half year have been passed but it is still a mystery as to who killed Benazir Bhutto. The former government of President Pervez Musharraf had blamed Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsood, who had denied the charge. Baitullah was killed in a U.S drone strike in August last year.

Several people have been arrested in connection with Benazir’s murder but they all denied any involvement.

The UN and British Police have conducted inquiries but they did not have the mandate to find out as to who were behind the assassination.

At a birth anniversary function at Benazir’s assassination site at Rawalpindi, Ms Naheed Khana, secretary to Benzir refused to cut the cake unless the killers of Benazir are arrested.
