Nitish’s public overture on Modi part of game-plan: Abu Qaisar

Patna: The public overture of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar about Gujarat CM and BJP leader Narendra Modi while BJP’s insistence to make Modi star campaigner in coming Assembly polls, is nothing but part of a well-thought out game-plan of NDA to keep both Hindu and Muslim constituencies in good humor, said Muslim United Front president Abu Qaisar.

“This is nothing but a drama. When Nitish holds hand of Modi in Ludhiyana it is ok, when the same picture appears in newspapers here in Bihar he gets angry. It means Nitish cares to show himself as a secular only in Bihar,” Qaisar told TwoCircles.net

In the name of Modi and Varun, Nitish wants to terrify Muslims and at the same time taking position against these BJP leaders he wants to say he is the only leader who can save the community from such people, said Qaisar and added that this drama will not work.

“Muslims are not terrified. Gone are the days when political parties would seek Muslims vote by terrifying the community from Advani,” he said. On June 12 when BJP National Executive was holding meeting here in Bihar’s capital, Qaisar’s Muslim United Front took out a protest march against Modi. Holding black flags, the Front’s supporters took round of the city, showing their anger against Modi.

Apparently angered with the publication of his and Modi’s photo holding hands in local dailies, Nitish had cancelled a dinner he was to host for BJP leaders including Modi and Advani. Recently he has returned the Rs 5 crore check of the Gujarat Government for Kosi aid.

Qaisar called upon the community to come out of such fear and get united under a platform. A united political platform is the only solution to the problems of the community.

Recently Qaisar has formed a political party – United Front – and has applied with the Election Commission for registration. He has decided to field candidates under the banner in the state assembly polls due in October/November 2010.
