Islamabad: A diplomatic faux pas was resolved amicably when Home Minister P. Chidambaram pointed out to his Pakistani counterpart Rehman Malik that the Indian flag was being displayed upside down during their meeting and Malik quickly corrected it after regretting the lapse.
“I detected the mistake and he (Malik) corrected the mistake. I told Malik about it and he was extremely regretful of that,” Chidambaram told reporters here Saturday after his talks with Malik at the interior ministry Friday night.
“I think its a minor mistake and I don’t think we should make much of it. The flag was put right…,” he said.
