New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Monday said it has set the target to complete all investigations within a year of registering a case.
“The CBI has set target for itself that once the case is registered, its investigation be completed within a year and the trial should be finalised within two years,” a CBI spokesman said here.
“The broad consensus was evolved in a meeting of law officers, heads of branches and heads of zones recently,” he said.
“CBI Director Ashwini Kumar emphasised that focus of the investigating agency this year would be on integrity, image and impact, registration and investigation, legal and prosecution, technical, forensic, coordination, administration and training,” the spokesman added.
According to the CBI, it has brought down number of cases pending in 2009 from 349 to 230.
