He said one weather radar will be installed at Mount Jakhu, the highest peak in Shimla, while another will be put up in Dharamsala.

“Each radar has a range of about 150 km. It would provide cloudburst and hailstorm warning,” the met official said.

According to him, the work for installing 81 automatic rain gauges would start next month and more automatic weather stations and rain gauges would be set up in the state under the Integrated Project of Himalayas scheme.
