Jammu: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Saturday protested in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly accusing the state government of withdrawing the security cover of one of its former legislators.
Speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone promised to take up the matter with the government.
“This is sheer vindictiveness,” PDP leader and former home minister Abdul Rehman Veeri said. He referred to the case of Mohi-ud-Din, who represented Rajpora constituency in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Former legislators get a bullet-proof vehicle and personal security officers due to threats from separatist guerrillas.
