Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University, the only university offering courses at higher level through Urdu medium, has started the admission process for regular courses for the academic year of 2010-2011 with the commencement of sale of prospectus and application forms on May 10. The university offers several higher courses, both professional and regular.
Courses offered at MANUU
A number of professional and regular courses are offered at MANUU. They include: M.A. (Urdu, Persian, Arabic, English, Hindi, Public Administration, Women’s Studies, Translation Studies, Mass Communication & Journalism), Master of Social Work, MBA, M. Ed., B. Ed, D. Ed, M.Phil (Urdu, Hindi, English, Public Administration, Women Studies, Social Exclusion and inclusive policy, Arabic) and Ph.D. (Urdu, English, Hindi, Women Studies, Public Administration, Education), Polytechnic Programmes (Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronic & Communication Engineering & Information Technology), P.G. Diploma (Information Technology, Functional Urdu), Diploma (Arabic, Arabic Translation & Persian) and Certificate Courses (Khush Khati & Tahseen-e-Ghazal).
Tahseen-e-Ghazal or Appreciation of Ghazal certificate course is a very unique course, conceived & designed specially keeping in view the popularity of Urdu poetry among non-Urdu folks. This oral programme has been successfully launched last year. M. Phil. In Arabic has been introduced from this academic year. Admissions in M.Ed., B.Ed., D.Ed, MCJ, MBA, MA Translation Studies, PG Diploma in Information Technology, all M.Phil, Ph.D. and Polytechnic courses will be on the basis of entrance examinations and in all other courses admissions will be on merit basis. Filled in application forms shall be submitted on or before 18th June, 2010 at University Headquarters, Hyderabad.
Prospectus, application forms
The prospectus and application forms are available at the University Campus, Hyderabad, Sub Regional Centre Hyderabad, all Regional & Sub Regional Centres and College of Teachers Education on payment of Rs. 100/- (by hand) or Rs. 150/- (by post) payable through demand draft drawn in favour of “Maulana Azad National Urdu University” payable at Hyderabad through any nationalized bank. The same can also be downloaded from the University website http://www.manuu.ac.in/. Reservation for SC/ST & OBC candidates will be as per the GOI norms and rules as amended from time to time. Hostel facility would be provided subject to availability.
The University provides fellowship of Rs. 5,000/- & Rs. 3,000/- per month to the students of Ph. D. and M. Phil. respectively as per UGC Norms. Scholarship of Rs. 1000 P.M. is provided to the students of Master Degree programmes subject to availability of funds.
