Mumbai : A benchmark index for Indian equities Thursday was ruling 128 points higher in the first 30 minutes of trade.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 17,323.63 points, was ruling at 17,324.62 points, 128.81 points or 0.75 percent up from its previous close at 17,195.81 points.
At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader 50-share S&P CNX Nifty had a gain of 0.66 percent from its previous close.
Broader market indices were doing better with the BSE midcap index ruling 1.04 percent up and the BSE smallcap index trading 0.97 percent higher.
