Lucknow: State minority welfare department on Thurssday appointed the District Minority Welfare Officer (DMWO) as ex-officio Madarsa education officer in their respective districts. These officers have been authorised to countersign the Transfer Certificates and other certificates issued by the Madarsa Shiksha Parishad.
Elaborating the details, minority welfare officer, Anees Ahmed Khan ‘Phool Babu’ stated that earlier these certificates were signed at state level. “Now when the facility will be available at district level the applicant will not have to rush to Lucknow thus saving their time and money,” he said. Phool Babu also apprised newsmen that for the welfare of minority students nearly 124 madarsas have been given recognition while another 39 madarsas have been taken on grant list of the government. The second instalment of scholarship for minority students in class X onwards amounting to nearly Rs 23 crores has been sent to respective districts with directives for total disbursement.
Meanwhile, Mr Anis Ansari, who was recently appointed as the vice-chancellor of UP Urdu, Arabi, Farsi University, has said the university would synchronize the pattern of Madrasa education towards making Urdu, Arabic and Persian as job oriented languages. He was speaking at a seminar.
Lawyers, teachers and social activists assembled at UP Press club to particpate in the seminar on ‘The Significance of UP Urdu, Arabi, Farsi University-Its Impact on the citizens of UP especially the Muslims and their Expectations’ on Thursday. The programme organised by All India Muslim Forum also witnessed the felicitation of Anis Ansari.
Highlighting the basic features of the University and its jurisdication, Anis Ansari emphasised on the occasion that the university would be the first academic centre in UP that would synchronize the pattern of Madrasa education besides proving out as an effective tool to make Urdu, Arabic and Persian as job oriented languages.
“I will leave no stone unturned during my tenure in living upto the expectation of government of UP and the people of the state especially Muslims. I will also try to persuade the goverment to allocate some building for the purpose so as to start the university at the earliest,” added Ansari.
Chairman of the forum, MK Sherwani, former vice-chancellor Agra University Prof Manzoor Ahmad among many others were present on the occasion.
