Soon after the crash of Air India Express flight from Dubai in Mangalore of Karnataka on May 22, EIFF members came into action to help the relatives of the victims.

“Soon after hearing the tragic incident EIFF pulled out the passenger list from the press release and called up emergency meeting of its council member and started calling the deceased families with passenger contact details.

With limited time and resource EIFF contacted more than 80 families UAE contacts and home contact no. It was very surprising to see lot of victims details are of traveling agencies. However with limited available contact details we have guided the relatives of possible immediate flight to reach Mangalore to attend the funeral of their beloved once. It was very tragic stories of passengers. Some have lost wife and children some have lost whole family, some have lost their only bread earner and story goes on…

By 3 pm we have sent 2 members of EIFF to Terminal 1 to guide them for the next flight also we have sent 2 members to Air India Office at Diera. We were able to get 5 tickets of the relative and later Air India Office said they do not have any more seats,” Nagoor said.
